October was Black History Month. During Black History Month, we remember and celebrate the important people from the past and also those who contribute to and help our society today. At Holy Rood we celebrated the music of Black artists. Each year group celebrated a different genre of Black music. We listened to the music of the artists, discussed the instruments used and looked at the different dimensions of the music. The children enjoyed making instruments such as drums and creating dances and movements to the music.
