Year 5 Topic Web - Summer Term

Term 4 - Upcycled Hats!

Year 5 have been busy this term upcycling their old t-shirts into something new to wear! They created some brilliant hats to keep them warm in the chilly weather. The children worked hard to cut and sew their fabric, as well as creating their own pom-poms to decorate their hats with - check out our designs!

Term 3 - Illuminated Letters

Year 5 enjoyed their art day this term where they learned all about the Lindisfarne Gospel and recreated their own illuminated letters! They worked hard to sketch out their ideas and then painted their work using some very intricate designs. It was great to see them persevering with their work and they should be very pleased with their outcomes!

Term 2 - Art & DT

This term, Year 5 have had some brilliant art and DT lessons. They have made clay potion pots and thought about what recipes they would use to create their own hero. They have also had a fun and exciting DT day where they designed and made their own pneumatic powered vehicle! They used 3D modelling software to create their design and also showed off their woodwork skills by sawing the axles to make the wheels turn.
