Holy Rood Catholic Primary School is currently on an exciting journey as we continue to expand from an infant school into a full primary. As we enter the final year of growth in September 2018, the Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced administrator to fulfil the post of Clerk to Governing Body, who can join our dedicated and enthusiastic team of fabulous children and superb staff.


This role will involve taking the minutes at full Governing Body meetings and committee meetings all of which are held in the evening as well as other administrative tasks in order to ensure the smooth running of the governing body. The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • has effective personal organisational and time management skills
  • recognises the place of confidentiality in the school environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • good knowledge of administrative work
  • able to communicate effectively via telephone, in writing and in person and develop effective working relationships
  • able to manage conflicting work pressures and organise priorities
  • experience of maintaining and developing information technology systems
  • competent user of word processing, electronic communications, spreadsheet and database applications.


Desirable Experience:

  • a good working knowledge of the legal framework relating to governance of schools and current developments in education
  • Clerk to Governing Body Award – NVQ 3 (or equivalent).
