This year the reading agency have made the Summer Reading challenge digital. The children can sign up on their website and join the 'Silly Squad', where they can set an amount of books they aim to read over the Summer. There are lots of online activities and stories for the children to engage with. Good afternoon everyone we hope you all enjoyed the story of 'The Very Busy Spider', you have created some amazing pieces of work. There is a new addition to the Home Learning page. Under Daily Prayers, there are now Family Time sheets which allow you to share the Gospel as a family and also suggest some lovely ideas for you do to together at this time, linked to the weekly reading.

The weather is once again looking good so we hope that you are able to get outside with your child and enjoy a walk today. Why not look for wildlife whilst you are out? We were lucky enough to spot some wild rabbits yesterday on our walk!

Good morning and happy Tuesday everyone!

We were very pleased to see so much fantastic learning uploaded to our Interactive Learning Diary this weekend, thank you! We have discovered that your observations only show up once they have been approved by your child's class teacher. We all look regularly at your observations, however there may be the odd day when there is a delay, so please allow a little time for these to be looked at.

 

Mrs Evans' daughter Chloe has been very busy providing a view of the wildlife in her back garden. She has created a section on the website called Mrs Evans' Garden. If you are interested in birds, minibeasts and frogs please take a look!

From this week the Department of Education is delivering daily online phonics lessons for children in Reception and Year 1. There is more information about this in the weekly planning and in parental support so please familiarise yourself with these. The Reception lesson starts at 10am and there is an extra lesson at 11am for those who require additional support with blending. Good morning everyone, we hope you are all safe and well and didn't eat too much chocolate over Easter! Welcome back to another week of Home Learning this week our story focus is the 'Very Hungry Caterpillar.'

 

We have been really pleased to see lots of amazing writing from the children. Please remember that the children do not need to necessarily spell words correctly, it is much more important that they are using their phonics to help them sound out their words. Welcome to your second week of learning, we hope you had a lovely weekend and are refreshed ready to learn!

 

We have all been very impressed with how hard the children have been working at home and have loved seeing all their brilliant dens, stories, number work and super writing.

 

This week's activities can be found under the weekly planning star. We have added some phonic activities to help the children to continue to practise and use all their sounds. 

 

Just a reminder that we are using the Interactive Learning Diary to record and monitor the children's learning. If you don't have access to a laptop then you can download the app for phone or Ipad from the app store. The image below shows the correct app.

It is Friday and you have nearly finished your first week of home learning!

 

There are two new additions to the home learning page. At the top there is now a link to free audio books that Amazon has released, there are lots of books and rhymes suitable for younger children.

 

Also, Milo our school therapy dog now has his own star, he will be leaving messages for the children and making sure that everyone is ok, please do show them to your child.

 

We would like to thank you all for your continued support this week, it is a challenging time and it has been lovely to see our children continuing to have fun and trying their best.
