Pigeons

Making a Nest.

At the end of the garden we have a bush. We were sitting outside and noticed a pigeon flapping about. Then we saw the pigeon was carrying sticks and things in its beak. It went into the bush and built a nest. This took about five days. Now the pair of pigeons sit in the nest, sometimes the Mum and sometimes the Dad. The pigeons are very clever and have hidden their nest in the bush away from next door's cat! We are hoping there are eggs inside and that we will soon have some baby pigeons! Can you spot the pigeon in the bush?

Here is the pigeon carrying things to build the nest. We think it is the female pigeon who builds the nest. It is not easy to tell if pigeons are boys or girls.
