We've been busy today preparing for Advent which involved some fun arts and crafts. Today we started creating Advent prayer bags which every child in the school will be able to take home to share with their families, to help prepare for Jesus' birth.

To mark Remembrance day, the chaplaincy team worked together to create a whole school collective worship.

Thank you to our Chaplaincy team who created an assembly to share with the whole school to help share Cafod's message to Go Green

Every year, all of the children at Holy Rood take part in fundraising for CAFOD who help support our global neighbours. This year's theme was Go Green thinking about climate change so that we can help protect our planet. Thank you to all of the children for wearing your brightest green clothes, and to all of our parents and carers for donating to this charity.

The Chaplaincy team attended Bristol Cathedral for the annual Commissioning service led by Bishop Declan. Our new chaplains received their badges and the whole team were welcomed to renew their promises to support and develop Catholic life within their schools and communities.

Our Chaplaincy team planned and led a collective worship with all of our KS2 students where we remembered those who were lost in World War One. They did a fantastic job and were praised by the teachers for their confidence and understanding. Each child in the school then wrote a short prayer on a poppy and we created a memorial area in the hall.

Welcome to the chaplaincy page! Here are the Chaplaincy team members who you can find in each year group. We meet weekly with our club leader, Mrs Cullingford and plan ways we can support the Catholic life within our school.

Our Year 6 chaplains were invited to attend St Josephs for a chaplaincy morning. The children had the opportunity to meet with other chaplains from the local Catholic schools and took part in creative workshops led by the St Josephs team.
