Stay and Play. Our parents and carers (and some brothers and sisters) came in to help us have plenty of Easter fun, making and decorating eggs, baskets and bonnets.
Crime Scene Day. During British Science week we arrived at school to find that the kitchen had been cordoned off. How could we be certain of getting our fish and chips, after a thief stole our cutlery? Luckily, we were able to put our science skills to work, comparing footprints, fingerprints and using chromatography to examine the culprit's pen. Having quizzed all the suspects and examined the evidence, we managed to track down the miscreants responsible, and our plates are now in their rightful place.
Super heroes. After a visit from the dastardly Evil Pea, Kingfishers set about transforming themselves (and most of our supermarket food box) into superheroes. We worked on our stamina and agility in the garden, sharpened up our writing skills as we made wanted posters and definitely needed super strength to cream the butter and sugar for our superhero celebration cakes. On Internet Safety Day we even learned to be 'Internet Protectors', helping to keep ourselves and our friends safe online.
We had great fun looking for signs of Autumn in our own outside area and also in Queen's Park. We brought some of the things we found back to school to make autumn crafts and collage (not the squirrel, though!)
We've been getting to know our new friends, and exploring the classroom and outside area. We've already started to learn our sounds, and to join in with the rest of the school. We took part in the CAFOD Harvest Fast Day, to help hungry people in Swindon and overseas.
